Persuasive Clothing

Smart clothing is the most intimate of interfaces: it has access to modalities and modes of interaction that no other technology has had. However, it also has the potential to be more intrusive and annoying than any other technology has been. We see a great deal of potential that lies just below consciousness: can your smart clothing encourage you to behave or feel in a better way? Can it calm you down, or encourage you to get up and move, without a conscious intrusion? Can it gently squeeze, or warm, or pull you toward something without explicitly asking? Our work looks at these interesting interactions below the threshold of consciousness.
