Wearable Input

Expressive Wearable Technology for Next-Generation Aesthetics

The 1960s fashion design icon Paco Rabanne once said "There is nothing new in fashion except materials." Expression of our indnvidual and group identies might be the most important function of clothing in our modern society. What does it mean if our clothing, too, can giggle, pout, or boast? Our work looks at what new materials like light and electricity might do for fashion, and what might happen when the dimension of time and responsivitiy is introduced into a formerly static mode of expression.
